Your game master will be acting as your avatar! They will walk around and move things as you instruct them to- (hint: if multiple people are playing select someone to be a leader that will control the avatar so there isn’t any confusion) your game master can talk to you and interact with you but will not provide a hint until you ask for one. Hints are unlimited!
The following documents are meant to help you see important information in the room while also controlling your avatar at the same time. DO NOT LOOK AHEAD TO ROOM 2 OR 3 UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO!

February 21
Just came back from vacation to San Antonio. boy That place is crazy. Some of the best mescal I’ve ever drank! I don’t much remember after the first day, but I think I was down there dang near a week.
March 17
The other day, this dog walks in to the saloon and says, “Gimme a beer”.
Evidently this type oF thing wasn’t too rare For him in these parts but I said, “I’m sorry, but we don’t serve dogs here.” The dog then took out a silver dollar, dropped it on the bar, and said, “Look, I got money, and I want a beer.” This scene had the potential to get ugly. I got a little irate, and said one more time, “We do not serve dogs here. Please leave.” The dog growled, so I pulled out muh gun and shot the dog in the Foot! The dog yelped, and ran out the door.
So today, the swinging bar doors were tossed open and in walks the dog that had been in the saloon the day before. He was dressed all in black. A black cowboy hat, a black vest, three black cowboy boots and one black bandage. The dog looks around, waits for the talking to quiet down, and says, “I’m lookin’ Fer the man who shot my paw! Teehee.. such a good one!
March 22
Pretty slow night in here. Couple of shady characters playing poker, and ol’ Gulliver’s getting beat in Faro again. He’s got a problem with them odd numbers, for some reason always counts em one too high and ends up loosin his shirt Fer it.
April 3
Couple prospectors came up in here today, eager to spend what they found with a few flakes of gold down river. I’m running low on most of my stock so I had to get some out of the storeroom, I can’t tell nothin bout those drinks with all those scrambled up labels. They was drunk and happy enough that they didn’t even care!
April 6
Boss came in purdy happy today. Apparently he ‘Found’ some ‘LOST’ ‘money’ when he went up thar to round hill. The people he ‘Found’ it From were apparently ‘sick’ and wanted someone to have it since they were ‘goners’. I don’t much care bout the story, boss ‘tipped’ me $50 anyway
May 22
I gotta say something to mongo. he’s done scared oFF everybody at the Faro table. Keeps talking bout that ‘Dead Man’s hand’ – ya know, Ace and eight. he gets so wound up about it, he usually counts em twice!
June 9
I think I may have Found my true love today. She came in with a buncha no-gooders round about high noon. Those beautiFul blonde highlights shone like a bonfire in the sun. she was tall, stood a bit taller than the biggest of the goons she rode in with. Somebody said her name was anabelle, and I can’t think oF a prettier name. My mind started to wander, wonderin iF I could care For and take care oF her, and iF I even had a place For her while I’m saving up to get away From the saloon. In the end I had to watch her vanish into the setting sun. I ain’t got time to take care oF a horse no way.
July 4
Another Full day oF poker and Faro. I don’t know how eddie’s so good at poker when he keeps messing up in Faro. he can’t tell the diFFerence in a Jack and King, and always switches em up. I guess it doesn’t matter as much in poker, or else he’s got a horseshoe up his butt and manages to win just by luck.
July 16
I needs to remember to check the score of that there Faro game. These guys messed up their score cards again. I know!….I’ll move the scoreboard chips to the correct amount so I can show them their mistakes when they come on in.
Room 1 – Scoring Faro:
The score is kept on the Casekeep by sliding the counters to the center, which tracks the game and shows the score for each card which ranges from zero to four. A scorecard can be used to capture the final score of a Faro game, but make sure everyone is counting the cards properly!
